The asset

One complete line. Product in, palletised cartons out.

This is not a single machine — it is a full Schubert TLM (Top-Loading Machine) production system built by Gerhard Schubert GmbH in Crailsheim, Germany, the reference name in high-end robotic packaging. Order MA004621, machine no. 00101869, year of manufacture 2015. It comprises two coordinated units: the packaging line (MA004621E01) and its dedicated robotic palletiser (MA004621E02).

The line receives bottles (in pucks) and folding-box blanks, robotically erects the cartons, fills them, closes them with Nordson hot-melt, checkweighs, labels every pack and stacks finished cartons onto Euro pallets — a continuous, hands-off flow across a compact ~12-metre footprint, driven by nine Schubert robots.

In its previous life it packed a premium personal-care product — Alpecin shampoo bottles (Dr. Kurt Wolff GmbH) into retail cartons. It comes off a single, careful ownership, is fully functional, and — unusually for a used line — arrives with its complete original Schubert operator documentation.

How it works

A single automated flow, end to end

Seven stages, no manual handling between infeed and finished pallet.

01 — INFEED

Feed & group

Bottles arrive in pucks; folding-box blanks are magazine-fed. Product is scanned and grouped.

02 — ERECT

Form cartons

A TLM-F2 robot erects cartons from flat blanks and glues them with Nordson hot-melt.

03 — FILL

Pick & place

Vision-guided F4 pickers place bottles into cartons; a second F2 loads and arranges product.

04 — CLOSE

Close & seal

A third TLM-F2 robot closes and seals the carton with lid blanks and hot-melt.

05 — WEIGH

Checkweigh

An in-line checkweigher verifies every pack by weight and rejects out-of-spec cartons.

06 — LABEL

Label

An integrated print-and-apply labeller marks each carton for traceability.

07 — PALLETISE

Palletise

A palletising robot stacks finished cartons onto ISO Euro pallets, ready to ship.

RESULT

Palletised, hands-free

One operator oversees the entire line. German build, decades of service life.

Schubert robotics

Why a Schubert line holds its value

Schubert designs its own robots, vision and controls in-house. Modular by design — you re-tool it, you don't replace it.

TLM-F2 · ×3

Erecting, filling & closing robots

Three two-axis top-loading F2 robots do the core work: F2_201 erects the carton, F2_202 fills it, F2_203 closes and seals it — each a servo-driven Schubert robot with exchangeable tooling for fast format changes.

TLM-F4 · ×3  +  F3 · ×2

Vision pickers & transfer robots

Three four-axis F4 robots (F4_401/402/403) pick product from a moving belt under image guidance and place it precisely; two three-axis F3 robots feed carton and lid blanks from the magazines. Eight Schubert robots on the line in total.

Transmodul · ×2

The patented transport robot

Schubert's signature: rail-based transport robots (TM_951 carton, TM_952 product) that are carrier, tool and processing station in one. They remove conventional conveyors, keep the line compact and make it re-formattable.

Vision system

In-line image recognition

Schubert's own BV/BVS image processing reads shape, position and orientation and recomputes the next pick after every grab — the backbone of the line's format flexibility and placement accuracy.

VMS control

Schubert control & operator terminal

Runs on Schubert's own VMS packaging-machine control, with a menu-driven, multi-language operator terminal and a plug-in handheld jog box. Schubert still supports this control family — spare parts, retrofit and modernisation, backed by an OEM hotline and on-site service-laptop interface.

Nordson + checkweigher

Proven in-line subsystems

Nordson ProBlue 10 hot-melt for carton and lid gluing, an in-line checkweigher for 100% weight verification, and a print-and-apply labeller on every pack — industry-standard, widely supported components.

Build quality

Built from genuine industrial subsystems

Beyond Schubert's own robotics, the line integrates named, widely-supported components from the top tier of European industrial suppliers — documented, sourceable and serviceable. Straight from the original manufacturer schematics.

Not a single-product line

Nine formats. Ready to run.

The single biggest question a buyer asks about a used line is: “will it run my product?” This one already does — it is configured and documented for nine different formats, covering both bottles and folding boxes, at up to 20 cartons / minute (120 units/min).

That flexibility, plus Schubert's fast format-set changeover, means the line adapts to a new product far more easily than a purpose-built machine. Format tooling and documentation are part of the conversation.

Why this line

German engineering, at a fraction of new

Built to run for decades

Schubert lines routinely run 20–30 years; machines from the 1980s are still in service. A 2015 line is mid-life, not end-of-life.

Flexible, not fixed

Nine configured formats and modular tooling. Re-tool for a new product instead of buying a new machine — the core Schubert advantage.

OEM support intact

Gerhard Schubert still supports this generation: spare parts, on-demand 3D-printed format parts, retrofit and modernisation.

Verified & documented

Nameplate, serial, order number and original Schubert drawings all match. No mystery machine — a fully traceable asset.

Complete line, one deal

Infeed to palletiser in a single purchase — no integrating modules from three sellers, no compatibility guesswork.

Inspect before you commit

Buyer questions

Answered honestly

Price is on request. Given the value of a complete Schubert line, we qualify each enquiry and share pricing directly — this keeps negotiation realistic and confidential. Send your enquiry and we respond quickly.

Yes. Serious buyers are welcome to inspect the line, and where it remains installed, to see it under power. Seeing a used line run is the single biggest way to de-risk the purchase — we encourage it.

The line is configured for nine formats across bottles and folding boxes. It was designed for personal-care bottles into cartons, but the modular Schubert concept and format-set changeover let it be re-tooled for other bottle/box products. Tell us your product and pack and we'll assess fit.

It runs Schubert's VMS control platform (2015 generation). Schubert maintains one continuous software line and still supports this generation, including retrofit and modernisation. It is a well-supported, current-family control system, not an orphaned one.

The line is sold ex-works. Dismantling, rigging, crating, freight and export documentation can be arranged or coordinated on your behalf. We'll walk you through the logistics and realistic costs as part of the deal.

Yes — and it's unusually complete. The line comes with its original 918-page Schubert operator manual (MA004621E01, 2015), the EC Declaration of Conformity, electrical and pneumatic schematics, third-party component documentation and the format list — all matching the machine's order number and serial. Format tooling and change parts are part of the conversation. Complete, machine-specific documentation is one of the biggest de-riskers when buying a used line, and this one has it.

Directly from the owner — a single, careful ownership, not a chain of intermediaries. That means faster answers, full history and a straightforward transaction.
